Gan Gani is a single unit kindergarten catering for 22 children each day, and operating a 5-day fortnight program. Our 2 groups (Monday, Tuesday, alternate Wednesday and Thursday, Friday, alternate Wednesday) operate between 8:45am and 2:45pm and each have a dedicated qualified Early Childhood Teacher and Educator.
Gan Gani Kindergarten provides exceptional early childhood education to kindergarten aged children in our local community. Our program is entirely play-based, drawing on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework as the basis for best practice in early childhood education and learning. As a part of our multi-cultural program, Gan Gani Kindergarten incorporates a unique Jewish curriculum that honours the heritage and traditions of our founding community and our current Jewish families, and provides a window into this culture for our non-Jewish families.
Gan Gani Kindergarten allows children of all backgrounds to experience Jewish cultural traditions through music, art, stories, cooking and food which celebrate daily and weekly customs and annual festivals. This program allows children of Jewish faith to practice and celebrate their culture in a safe and nurturing environment, and children of other faiths and backgrounds to experience first-hand the richness and tradition of a different culture. Through this, Gan Gani kindergarten helps to foster understanding, acceptance, wellbeing and the valuing of the cultural diversity that exists in our community.
Our daily program offers play experiences in both the indoor and outdoor environments. Our beautiful Life Garden provides children with hands-on learning in the integrated ecosystems of our vegetable gardens, chicken coop, worm farm, composting and native bee hive. The children are involved in all aspects of planting, care of the plants and animals, harvesting food, cooking and eating from our Life Garden. The large playground which includes a digging patch, sandpit, fort, open spaces and private nooks, provides ample room for imaginative play, physical challenges and investigation.
Inside, the kindy is well equipped with high-quality, open-ended resources, books, musical instruments, art and craft materials and artefacts. The teachers carefully plan and resource learning experiences based on the children’s interests, including imaginative play, construction, art, cooking, story-telling, music, investigation, fine motor skills and problem solving.
Our kindergarten program offers a safe and caring environment in which your child can build confidence in their abilities, extend their communication skills, be creative and learn early literacy and numeracy concepts. All of which will give your child an important flying start to learning and life.
